All-You-Can-Eat Promotion: McDonald’s Fries

By Catalina Gonella

Over the last few years, McDonald’s has upped their nutrition game by offering some legitimately healthy options. This is not one of them.

Over the past few years, The Golden Arches has kept us on our toes with a slew of menu changes made in an attempt to win back their customers' love. And it seems that America’s most infamous fast food joint won’t be slowing their innovations anytime soon. This summer, a St. Joseph, Missouri location scheduled to open in July, will be offering what’s arguably one of the chain’s worst menu offerings to date: all-you-can-eat French fries. That’s right, there will be no limit to how many addictive taters you can eat when you dine at the massive 6,500-square-foot location.

Though we usually suggest ordering Ronald's apple slices or a mandarin orange as a side (gotta sneak in some nutrients somewhere!), we can’t deny that that the Golden Arches’ fried potatoes are relatively low in calories and sodium compared to other chains' French fries, so indulging once in a while won’t totally derail your weight loss goals. Opting for the all-you-can-eat option, however, very well might.

It's quite possible that the St. Joseph location is just a test run for a national roll-out of the diet-ruining menu offering. Neadless to say, we're hoping it doesn’t get the green light! However, in the off chance it does reach your local Mickey D’s, we suggest skipping the gorge-fest and opting for a small order of fries and pairing it with a top-ranking burger, sandwich, or salad from our exclusive report Every Menu Item at McDonald’s Ranked.
